Updates and Changes

New wound care items! A neighbor (and nurse) suggested that we add Vaseline packets to help keep wounds moist and protected; a couple of days later, two street medics came by and suggested that we add non-adherent gauze (that won’t stick to wounds) to help prevent new injury when changing bandages. (The ABD pads still help keep wounds from leaking through, since they have a waterproof back, but one can use the non-adherent bandages underneath the ABD pads.) Both are now in LFFC, with our thanks to both suggestors.

Zines have been extremely popular over the last month. We haven’t keep good numbers on how many we’re distributing, but they keep needing reprints, which suggests they’re getting read.

Monthly Usage

This month, we had 38 outgoing completed calls made from the Futel phone! That’s a new record, and more than one per day on average. (Our previous most was 25 in one month.) We’re delighted that people are finding it so helpful; it’s lovely to come outside and find people using the phone.

• 37 boxes (74 doses) of naloxone

Our COGGA for this month is $1266.17, not including naloxone, condoms, or lubricants (all of which are provided by outside groups at no cost to us).
